Retro Restoration

1956 Shasta

This wreck of a Shasta shows how far we can go with a restoration.  This one has all the parts we need for a restoration...the windows, lights, a good frame...we don't care what the skin looks like, even if it's as rough as this one.

How's this for a rough interior, I'm sure to most this would look hopeless.  But close inspection shows a very nice stove, icebox and all the cabinet hardware.  Bonus is the original seat springs and all the window hardware.

Upon disassembly we discover a previous repair, the side had a patch over part of the original skin.  The yellow and tan were the original colors.  The wall had been repaired with a Norge refrigerator crate, probably when it was almost new.

All new walls were built, new 9" checkerboard floor and the remaining cabinets were refurbished and installed.

New skin is completed, windows are rebuilt, starting to look like a new trailer, just waiting the finishing touches.

Ready to roll with all the finishing touches, including a new screen door and those classic wide whitewalls

The finished interior.  New mattress, quality upholstery on rebuilt springs.  New water system, all new electrical and gas system.

Showing off it's new awning the trailer is displayed at the Newport Dunes Rally.  We are proud to say that this trailer went from a total wreck to one in better than showroom condition.
